Again. It is rumored that Monks,
the Missouri outlaw, is at West Plains, Mo., with about three hundred men,
which he secured from the Governor of Missouri under the false pretense, that
that State was about to be invaded by one thousand Arkansians. It is reported also, that he murdered four
men in These reports were
received here several days ago, and as nothing reliable has been received
since, we are led to believe they are unfounded. For the sake of good order and quiet, we
hope they are. |
